World famous artist P. Buckley Moss will return to Amish Country for a spectacular in-person show and signing event at Berlin Creek & Blue River Galleries located in Berlin, the heart of Amish Country. This year, the galleries have commissioned Moss to step back in time when railroad was king and discover Dreamsville, USA. The original watercolor titled Dreamsville, USA depicts canteen heritage as it would have appeared during WWII when it was the birthplace of the Salvation Army track-side canteen. Canteen volunteers would provide homemade cookies and sandwiches for the troops as they traveled to and from the war front. A cup of coffee and a smile made a huge difference, as troop morale was lifted. Canteens helped to engage the country in the home front effort and are credited with helping to change the tide of the war. Ohio boasted the largest number of track-side canteens. Limited edition prints of the original painting will be available at the galleries.
In addition to the gallery show and signing, the galleries will also host a special dinner and tour event on Sept. 20. The evening will begin at 6 p.m. and include a bountiful harvest dinner catered by Dennison’s very own Mike Smith, the executive chef of Trax Diner, as well as a tour of the historic Dennison Depot Museum, Ohio’s 70th National Historic Landmark. The Dreamsville, USA Dinner Event with P. Buckley Moss is reservation only and seating is limited. Tickets for the event are available by contacting the galleries at 330-893-2686. Reservation deadline is Sept. 12.
The gallery show and signing with P. Buckley Moss will be at Berlin Creek & Blue River Galleries on Friday, Sept. 21, and Saturday, Sept. 22. Moss will be in the gallery for the meet and greet, signing previously purchased or newly purchased prints from noon to 5 p.m. both days. Contact the galleries at 330-893-2686 for more information.
