Description

Wendell August Forge is America’s oldest and largest forge, producing hand-wrought ornamental metalware and elegant giftware in aluminum and other metals since 1923.

Just outside of Berlin, the 13,000-square-foot timber frame facility, located beneath the blue and yellow water tower, includes a 5,000-square-foot showroom. The World's Largest Amish Buggy, made especially for Wendell August Forge by an Amish buggy maker, is a great photo opportunity, whether in front of the massive buggy or on a genuine buggy seat.

High above the showroom an LGB train winds its way overhead on more than 300 feet of track. Another old time favorite is a Nickelodeon that plays numerous songs.

Visitors to the Wendell August stores will discover an array of traditional and contemporary metalware. From affordable gifts to elegant designs and furnishings, there are more than 1,000 gift items available. Christmas-themed items are popular throughout the year, while colored glass and hand-painted designs complement many forged metal items. The company’s artisans and craftsmen, who use the original eight-step process to produce every heirloom piece in aluminum, bronze, pewter, sterling silver, and other metals, preserve the heritage art of Wendell August Forge.
