A favorite local gathering place, The Farmstead is like most small town restaurants. Our most devoted customers stop in a couple times a day to share both the good food and the fellowship.
Located near the hub of downtown Berlin, Farmstead Restaurant is not only a convenient gathering spot for our local crowd, but a short walk or drive from most shops or hotels in the bustling village.
A relatively new addition to Berlin, The Farmstead has quickly become a favored spot for get-togethers. Built in 2003 on John and Rita Yoder's family farm, the cupola-topped family restaurant is nestled off busy State Highway 62 in a private and rather quiet nook of town.
Enjoy bountious portions of our Amish Kitchen Cooking from breakfast through dinner. From our signature broasted chicken and real mashed potatoes to our tasty daily specials, you'll leave with that satisfied, filled-to-the-brim feeling.
There's no substitute for experience and Amanda Yoder is no exception. Learning the art of homestyle cooking in her Amish home, Amanda now leads the way in our Farmstead kitchen. Using time-honored recipes, dishes such as Amish noodles and dressing are prepared with the same care and attention as they would use in her own home. It's a tradition that you can taste!
Breakfast, served from 7am to 10:30am, includes fluffy buttermilk hotcakes, golden slices of fried mush with sausage gravy or syrup, and warm biscuits topped with homemade sausage gravy.
For lunch or dinner, try one of our specialty sandwiches, such as The Reuben or The Rachel, made with our own fresh baked bread, local meats and cheeses then grilled to perfection.
Or, opt for a full dinner such as smoked ham, pork and sauerkraut or salmon. Hearty side dishes include real mashed potatoes, homemade egg noodles, our special recipe creamed corn or green beans. There’s also a great Kid’s Menu, with all their favorites, and lighter options, including homemade soups and chef salads.
At our Farmstead salad bar, choose from rows of fresh vegetables, fruits, coleslaw, potato salad, and regional specialties such as mustard or picked red beet eggs.
A meal in an Amish home is not complete without a homemade pie, pudding or cake to top off the meal. Desserts at The Farmstead include the traditional double-crust fruit pies, rich smooth cream pies and date pudding, but also the more unique cakes and chocolate peanut butter pudding we serve on our Hot Buffet.
Making the your dessert choice will be the most difficult part of your meal. With almost twenty pie flavors, plus other favorites such as seasonal fresh strawberry pie , homemade cheesecake and ice cream, there will be no shortage of options.
Connection to the community and the family are foundations of Amish/Mennonite life. Sharing a meal or snack is their favorite way to fellowship.
During lunch and dinner, our Family-Style meals accommodate groups of all sizes. Generous platters of chicken, ham, roast beef, or turkey, and favorite sides such bread stuffing made from a traditional Amish recipe, are brought from the kitchen in serving dishes to pass around the table and share.
Yes, The Farmstead has a daily Hot Buffet! Served from lunch until close, it's filled with fried chicken and slow-cooked roast beef plus specialties like sweet potato casserole and baked beans. Included with the Hot Buffet are our Salad and Dessert Bar.
Every item on our lunch and dinner menu also is available for carry-out. So, even the busiest families can find time in their hectic schedules to share a wholesome meal together.
We're commited to delivering attentive service, good value, and high levels of quality, consistency, and cleanliness every day. That’s the kind of genuine hospitality we want you to associate with the Berlin Farmstead name.
