Antiques and Artisans Show returns to Zoar

The Antiques and Artisans Show at Historic Zoar Village is set to return Saturday, July 26 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, July 27 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Considered one of Ohio’s fastest-growing antique events, the show will bring together more than 60 dealers from across the country offering premier country, primitive, folk and Americana antiques. Approximately 20 juried artisans also will be featured in the Artisan Showcase Tent, offering handmade folk art, furniture and fine crafts.

Visitors can explore an art exhibit in the Bimeler Museum that will feature the works of historic Cleveland artist Adam Lehr. The 1817 Bimeler Cabin, the first structure built in Zoar, will be open for tours and will showcase original 19th-century furniture crafted by the village’s earliest settlers. Additional museum buildings will be open, offering insight into the Zoar community, which operated as the most successful communal society in America from 1819-98.

Throughout the weekend guests can observe live demonstrations of traditional 19th-century techniques such as weaving, spinning, blacksmithing, butter churning and kraut making. The village’s Zoar Bakery, Zoar Store and privately owned antique shops will be open for shopping, and a beer garden and various food vendors will be available on-site.

Admission to walk the village, shop the craft show, and be in the food and beverage areas is free. Tickets to access the Antiques Show and Juried Artisan Showcase are $12 for adults while children age 12 and under are admitted for free.

Tickets are issued as wristbands, which provide access to all tents, museum buildings, events and demonstrations. Wristbands can be purchased at any of several outdoor admission booths or at the Zoar Store and Visitors Center on both days.

Proceeds from the event help support educational programming and ongoing architectural restoration projects in Historic Zoar Village.
