Helping Hands Quilt Shop

With more than 100 locally made quilts and table runners, the shop is meant for the quilt lover as much as it is for the quilter. Crafters enjoy the large selection of fabric, notions and supplies that include cottons, flannels and seasonal prints.

Helping Hands Quilt Shop, Berlin’s original quilt shop was born when Alma Mullet, encouraged by her husband to move her quilting frame from her living room to his vacant office space turned a beloved hobby into a business. Since 1974, Helping Hands has been a destination for quilters and those who appreciate the fine craft.

Over the years, the shop has continued to grow and displays hundreds of quilts that are made in-house by local Amish and Mennonite women.

In 2011, the Dennis Mullet Family purchased the shop and quilts remain the passion of every employee at Helping Hands. The shop also has more than 3,000 bolts of fabric, kits, notions, embroidery, quilt frames and supplies, cozy flannels, holiday prints and a discount table where customers can enjoy savings.

Amish and Mennonite women gather at the shop to quilt and visit. A large amount of completed quilts are later sold for various charities that benefit local individuals and families.

More than 100 finished quilts are available for browsing and for purchase in the shop. Skilled quilters can appreciate the time and expertise it takes to create these humble works of art while novices can gain inspiration to stitch their own quilts.
