Comforting Amish oatmeal pie that tastes remarkably like pecan pie. Brown sugar gives a deep, rich flavor to this sweet, simple pie that is a favorite Amish country recipe.


Ingredients:

  • 3 large eggs beaten
  • ⅔ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsps butter softened
  • ⅔ cup old fashioned rolled oats
  • ⅔ cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 unbaked pie shell
  • ice cream, optional

Directions:

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the first 7 ingredients and mix well.
  2. Pour into an unbaked pie shell.
  3. Bake at 350 degrees for 55-60 minutes or until the pie is cooked through.
  4. Serve warm with ice cream.
